Building Safety Act 2022 - Cause for concern…

The Building Safety Act continues to cause concern for Conveyancers.

Lorraine is keeping practitioners up to date on social media and offers a course on the subject.

Many conveyancers have been expressing their concerns about the Building Safety Act for some time.

Why?

❎ the uncertainty relating to many of the key provisions of the Act

❎ the additional unacceptable burdens placed on conveyancers by the lenders in the
UK Finance Lender's Handbook

❎ the general risk of acting on a leasehold purchase

Note that the
The Law Society has (finally) commented and on 21 July 2023 issued an update on the topic

However, there is little in the way of guidance for
#conveyancers - although it is good to see that the Law Society is liaising with government and the lenders and is seeking views of the profession
